In Sölden winter starts a little earlier than elsewhere. At the top of the 3000 meters, the best skiers in the world gather at the first ski race of the season to earn points. Further down in the finish area, the thundering crowd is full partying to live music and DJ sound. A ski opening, a festival of sports and that already in late October. Depending on the snow conditions and temperatures, the winter ski area of Sölden opens in mid-November. The Giggijoch is where it all happens in the ski arena with direct access to the glacier.
Starting in September, you can ski in Sölden. Both glaciers are a guarantee for an exceptional skiing pleasure already in the pre-winter months. At the Tiefenbach Glacier, you will find gentle and wide ski runs and is therefore very suitable for less experienced winter sports enthusiasts.

The Grünwald Resort is situated about 200 meters above the Sölden village center at 1,500 m above sea level where there is peace and quite. From this sunny plateau, you have a wonderful panoramic view of Sölden and on the Nederkogl peak (3,168 m).
All of Sölden is at your feet! Leave your car at home. You can walk to the center of Sölden in about 20 minutes. In the winter, take the ski bus, or use one of the many taxi services available. If you need help at your arrival, here you can find more information.
