More about the included Summer CardThe Summer Card is not a pure bike pass, but it provides you with essential benefits and discounts for your limitless biking pleasure:
1. Discount on Bike Transport Tickets (Bike Republic Upgrade)
- Important to know: The free mountain ascents and descents included in the Summer Card do not apply to bike transport on the cable cars. You will need a separate ticket for your mountain bike to use the trails and lines of the Bike Republic.
- Your benefit: As an Ötztal Summer Card holder, you receive reduced rates (a discount) on the "Bike Republic Upgrade" (the bike tickets for the cable cars). This saves you money when purchasing day passes or multi-day tickets.
2. Mobility throughout the Valley
- Free bus rides: You can use all public scheduled buses throughout the entire Ötztal valley free of charge and without limitations.
- Bike transport on the bus included: Bike transport on the public bus is usually included on the route up to Obergurgl. This allows you to easily reach different starting points or return relaxed after a long tour.
3. Benefits for Bike Rentals
- Free standard bike (one-time): You receive a one-time free rental of a standard bike. Please note: This bike is generally not suitable for demanding downhill trails.
- Discount on specialized bikes: For the necessary downhill bikes, enduro bikes, or e-bikes that you need for the trails and lines of the Bike Republic Sölden, you receive a discount (often €10 off per day, for example) at participating rental partners.
4. Additional Perks for Bikers
- Indoor Bikepark: You receive a one-time 2-hour ticket for the Indoor Bikepark at AREA 47 (excluding rental equipment).
- Discounts on courses: In the digital experience shop, you secure a 10% price advantage on many bookable activities, including bike technique courses.

Experience the Ötztal Cycle Route: 50 km of pure cycling adventure in Tyrol!
Discover the endless variety of Tyrol’s longest side valley! This video takes you along the Ötztal Cycle Route, which leads you 50 kilometres away from traffic, from Haiming to Sölden.
Whether by e-bike, mountain bike or on a family outing – enjoy stunning natural landscapes along the Ötztaler Ache, past highlights such as Lake Piburg. Take a look and plan your next cycle tour!
- Choose your direction wisely: Officially, the cycle path leads uphill from Haiming (Ötztal-Bahnhof) to Sölden. If you prefer a more relaxed experience, take the public bus with a bike trailer up to Sölden and enjoy a leisurely 50-kilometer cruise downhill.
- E-bike or muscle power? Although the route is scenically breathtaking, it does pack some crisp climbs (a total of approx. 850 meters of elevation gain uphill). An e-bike or a good level of basic fitness is worth its weight in gold here.
- Charging stations & service: There are numerous e-bike charging stations and bike repair shops along the route. Nevertheless, it's smart to pack a small multi-tool and a spare inner tube.
- Refreshing pit stops: Be sure to plan for breaks! The idyllic Lake Piburg near Oetz is perfect for a swim, and the Stuibenfall in Umhausen (Tyrol's largest waterfall) is an absolute must-see right by the wayside.
- Family tip: The section between Aschbach and Längenfeld is particularly flat and wide – ideal for a relaxed bike trip with children.
- Safety first: Since the path runs well away from car traffic, often through alpine forests and along the roaring Ötztaler Ache river, a helmet and sturdy shoes are absolute essentials.

This legendary festival brings non-stop action to the valley. Ötztaler Radmarathon
“I have a dream” – that is the motto of what is arguably the toughest and most prestigious road cycling marathon in the Alps. A staggering 227 kilometres and a gruelling 5,500 metres of climbing across four Alpine passes (including the Timmelsjoch) push the approximately 4,000 lucky participants to their absolute limits. An unrivalled festival for riders and spectators alike!
BRS National Day
At the start of October, the BRS National Day traditionally marks the start of the grand season finale. During this weekend-long event, the end of a fantastic summer of cycling is celebrated in style with cool side events, community rides and a great atmosphere, before the trails go into hibernation.
